Canon launches its new camera, the Canon PowerShot A300 which is an exciting camera and supposed to set new standards in the market! It was shown in the US on the 27/2/03. The Canon PowerShot A300 has been launched at a price of 300in North America, a very fair price. The PowerShot A300 delivers a maximum resolution of 2048 x 1536. It also supports a lower resolution of 1600 x 1200, 1024 x 768, 640 x 480. The image ratio (w/h) on the Canon PowerShot A300 is 4:3, making a camera of 3.1 mega pixels. The lens's sensor of the PowerShot A300 is a CCD which measures only 1/2.7 " having a RGB color filter.
Canon implemented a digital zoom on the PowerShot A300 with an internal flash which is very handy to any cameras nowadays . The normal focus range between the camera lens and the main subject is 20 cm. The minimum shutter speed on the PowerShot A300 is 1 seconds and the maximum shutter speed is 1/2000 seconds. Movies are supported in this model which is always a useful function. The Canon PowerShot A300 camera has an internal storage of 32 mb and can be extended with external storage by using Compact Flash (Type I).
