You can also set it at a lower resolution of 1600 x 1200, 1024 x 768, 640 x 480. The ratio of the image (w/h) on the Canon PowerShot A310 has been set at 4:3, making a total of 3.1 mega pixels. The internal sensor on the PowerShot A310 is a CCD which measures 1/2.7 " having a RGB color filter.
Canon implemented a digital zoom on the PowerShot A310 with an internal flash being a standard in nowadays cameras .
