Canon impresses with its new model, the Canon PowerShot A400 which is a very exciting camera and setting new standards in the camera industry! It was unveiled in North America on the 19/8/04. The Canon PowerShot A400 was initially targeted at a retail price of 180in North America, a very fair price. The PowerShot A400 offers a maximum resolution of 2048 x 1536. You can also set it at a lower resolution of 1600 x 1200, 1024 x 768, 640 x 480. The ratio of the image (w/h) on the Canon PowerShot A400 is 4:3, making a total of 3.1 mega pixels. The sensor on the PowerShot A400 is a CCD of dimensions 1/3.2 " using a RGB color filter.
Canon implemented a digital zoom on the PowerShot A400 with an internal flash which is very handy to any cameras nowadays . The minimum shutter speed (min. exposition to light) on the PowerShot A400 is 1 seconds while the maximum shutter speed is 1/1500 seconds. Movie clips are also supported in this version which is always a useful function. The Canon PowerShot A400 has an internal memory of 16 mb and can be extended with SD/MMC card. The LCD screen of the PowerShot A400 is measuring 1.5 ".
