Canon PowerShot A550 review
Canon presents its new conception, the Canon PowerShot A550 which is a very special camera and supposed to set new standards in the market! It was shown in the US on the 18/1/07. It can also be set at a lower resolution of 2592 x 1944, 2048 x 1536, 1600 x 1200, 640 x 480. The sensor on the PowerShot A550 is a CCD which measures only 1/2.5 " having a RGB color filter. Canon implemented a digital zoom on the PowerShot A550 and included an internal flash which is always essential in a camera . The normal focus range is 45 cm. The min. shutter speed of the PowerShot A550 was set at 15 seconds and the maximum shutter speed is 1/2000 seconds.
Movie clips are also supported in this version which is always a useful function. The Canon PowerShot A550 has an internal memory of 16 mb extendable with external storage with SD/SDHC card. The LCD implemented in the PowerShot A550 diagonally measures 2.0 ". A video out plug exists allowing you to watch your pictures on TV. Connection to a computer is available through USB. To conclude, we truly think the Canon PowerShot A550 is a great camera and we would encourage you to buy this great camera.
