Canon impresses with its new camera, the Canon PowerShot A85 which is a very special camera and supposed to set new standards in the market! It was presented in North America on the 20/7/04. The PowerShot A85 has for maximum resolution 2272 x 1704. It can also be set at a lower resolution of 1600 x 1200, 1024 x 768, 640 x 480. The image ratio (width / height) on the Canon PowerShot A85 has been set at 4:3, making a total of 4.0 mega pixels. The lens's sensor of the PowerShot A85 is a CCD measuring only 1/2.7 " and uses a RGB color filter. Canon implemented a digital zoom on the PowerShot A85 with an internal flash being a standard in nowadays cameras .
The minimum shutter speed on the PowerShot A85 is 15 seconds while the maximum shutter speed is 1/2000 seconds. Movie clips are also supported in this model which is always a useful function. The Canon PowerShot A85 includes an internal memory of 32 mb and can be extended with external storage by using Compact Flash (Type I). The LCD implemented in the PowerShot A85 is measuring 1.8 ". There is also a video out output available making it handy to watch pictures on your television.
