Canon impresses with its new camera, the Canon PowerShot S30 which is a special camera and setting new standards in the market! It was shown on the North American market on the 02/10/01. The Canon PowerShot S30 will be sold at a retail price of 600in the United States, a very fair price. The PowerShot S30 delivers a maximum resolution of 2048 x 1536. It can also be set at a lower resolution of 1600 x 1200, 1024 x 768, 640 x 480. The ratio of the image (w/h) on the Canon PowerShot S30 is 4:3, making a total of 3.1 mega pixels. The sensor of the PowerShot S30 is a CCD measuring only 1/1.8 " having a RGB color filter.
Canon added a digital zoom on its PowerShot S30 and included an internal flash which is always essential in a camera . The normal focus range between the camera lens and the main subject is 80 cm. The minimum shutter speed on the PowerShot S30 is 15 seconds and the maximum shutter is 1/1500 seconds. Movies are supported in this model which is always a useful function. The Canon PowerShot S30 camera has an internal storage of 16 mb and can be extended with external storage by using Compact Flash (Type I or II).
