Canon is back with its new camera, the Canon PowerShot SD600 which is a very exciting camera and entering with force a very competitive market! It was presented in the US on the 21/2/06. The Canon PowerShot SD600 is sold at a price of 322in the US, a great deal. The PowerShot SD600 can be set to a maximum resolution of 2816 x 2112. You can also set it at a lower resolution of 2272 x 1704, 1600 x 1200, 640 x 480. The image ratio (width / height) on the Canon PowerShot SD600 has been set at 4:3, for a total of 6.0 mega pixels. The sensor of the PowerShot SD600 is a CCD which measures 1/2.5 " with a RGB color filter.
Canon implemented a digital zoom on the PowerShot SD600 and also added an internal flash being very common in new cameras . The normal focus range between the camera lens and the object is 30 cm. The minimum shutter speed on the PowerShot SD600 was set at 15 seconds while the maximum shutter speed is 1/1500 seconds. Movie clips are also supported on this camera which is always a useful function. The Canon PowerShot SD600 camera has an internal storage of 16 mb and can be extended with SD/MMC card. The LCD implemented in the PowerShot SD600 is measuring 2.5 ".
