Canon launches its new camera, the Canon PowerShot SD800 IS which is an exciting camera and supposed to set new standards in the market! It was presented in North America on the 14/9/06. The PowerShot SD800 IS delivers a maximum resolution of 3072 x 2304. You can also set it at a lower resolution of 2592 x 1944, 2048 x 1536, 1600 x 1200, 640 x 480. The image ratio on the Canon PowerShot SD800 IS has been set at 4:3, 3:2, making a camera of 7.1 mega pixels. The lens's sensor of the PowerShot SD800 IS is a CCD of dimensions 1/2.5 " and uses a RGB color filter. Canon added a digital zoom on its PowerShot SD800 IS and included an internal flash being very common in new cameras .
The min. shutter speed of the PowerShot SD800 IS is 15 seconds and the maximum shutter speed is 1/1600 seconds. Movie clips are also supported in this version being a very useful function. The Canon PowerShot SD800 IS camera has an internal storage of 16 mb and can be extended with external storage by using SD/MMC card. The LCD screen of the PowerShot SD800 IS is measuring 2.5 ". A video output is available allowing you to watch your favorite pictures on television.
