Leica D-LUX 2 review
Leica strikes back with its new camera, the Leica D-LUX 2 which is a very exciting camera and setting new standards in the camera industry! It was shown in the US on the 01/10/05. The D-LUX 2 offers a maximum resolution of 3840 x 2160. It can also be set at a lower resolution of 3072 x 1728, 1920 x 1080. The image ratio on the Leica D-LUX 2 is 4:3, 3:2, 16:9, making a camera of 8.3 mega pixels. The lens's sensor of the D-LUX 2 is a CCD measuring only 1/1.65 " having a RGB color filter. Leica included a digital zoom on the D-LUX 2 with an internal flash being a standard in nowadays cameras .
The normal focus range between the camera lens and the object is 50 cm. The minimum shutter speed (min. exposition to light) on the D-LUX 2 was set at 60 seconds while the maximum shutter speed is 1/2000 seconds. The movie mode is supported in this model which is always a useful function. The Leica D-LUX 2 has an internal storage space of 32 mb extendable with external storage with SD/MMC card. The LCD screen of the D-LUX 2 measures 2.5 ". There is also a video out output available making it handy to watch pictures on your television.
A USB connection is furnished to connect to a computer. To summarize, we believe the Leica D-LUX 2 makes a very attractive camera and we encourage anyone interested in a great camera to buy this wonderful camera.
