Leica V-LUX 1 review
Leica launches its new camera, the Leica V-LUX 1 which is a very special camera and setting new standards in the market! It was presented in North America on the 14/9/06. The V-LUX 1 offers a maximum resolution of 3648 x 2736. It can also be set at a lower resolution of 3264 x 2448, 2560 x 1920, 2048 x 1536, 1600 x1200. The ratio of the image on the Leica V-LUX 1 has been set at 4:3, 3:2, 16:9, making a camera of 10.0 mega pixels. The sensor on the V-LUX 1 is a CCD measuring only 1/1.8 " having a RGB color filter. Leica added a digital zoom on its V-LUX 1 and also added an internal flash which is very handy to any cameras nowadays .
The normal focus range between the camera and the object is 30 cm. The min. shutter speed of the V-LUX 1 is 60 seconds while the maximum shutter speed is 1/2000 seconds. The movie mode is supported in this version which is always a useful function. The Leica V-LUX 1 camera has an internal storage of 32 mb extendable with external storage with SD/MMC/SDHC card. The LCD screen available on the V-LUX 1 measures 2.0 ". A video out plug exists allowing you to watch your favorite pictures on television.
USB connectivity to a computer is supported. To summarize, we believe the Leica V-LUX 1 is a fantastic camera and we recommend our readers to buy this wonderful camera.
