Nikon launches its new camera, the Nikon Coolpix S2 which is a great camera and setting new standards in the market! It was announced in North America on the 18/5/05. The Nikon Coolpix S2 has been launched at a price of 299in the United States, a very interesting deal. This nice little piece of technology measures 92 x 59 x 22 mm and weights 160 g. The Coolpix S2 delivers a maximum resolution of 2592 x 1944. You can also set it at a lower resolution of 2048 x 1536, 1024 x 768, 640 x 480. The ratio of the image (width / height) on the Nikon Coolpix S2 is set at 4:3, making a total of 5.1 mega pixels.
The lens's sensor of the Coolpix S2 is a CCD having for dimensions 1/2.5 " using a RGB color filter. Nikon included a digital zoom on the Coolpix S2 and included an internal flash which is always essential in a camera . The normal focus range between the camera lens and the object is 30 cm. Movie clips are also supported on this camera which is always a useful function. The Nikon Coolpix S2 has an internal storage space of 12 mb extendable with SD/MMC card + Internal. The LCD screen available on the Coolpix S2 measures 2.5 ".
