Nikon presents its new model, the Nikon Coolpix S5 which is a very special camera and supposed to set new standards in the market! It was presented in the US on the 21/2/06. The Nikon Coolpix S5 has been launched at a price of 311in the US, a very interesting deal. This model measures 93 x 59 x 20 mm while weights 165 g. The Coolpix S5 has for maximum resolution 2816 x 2112. It can also be set at a lower resolution of 2048 x 1536, 1024 x 768, 640 x 480. The ratio of the image (w/h) on the Nikon Coolpix S5 is 4:3, making a camera of 6.0 mega pixels. The lens's sensor of the Coolpix S5 is a CCD which measures only 1/2.5 " with a RGB color filter.
Nikon implemented a digital zoom on the Coolpix S5 and also added an internal flash which is very handy to any cameras nowadays . The normal focus range between the camera and the object is 30 cm. The movie mode is supported on this camera which is always a useful function. The Nikon Coolpix S5 camera has an internal storage of 21 mb extendable with SD/MMC card + Internal. The LCD implemented in the Coolpix S5 measures 2.5 ". A video out plug exists letting you see your pictures on television.
