Nikon launches its new conception, the Nikon Coolpix S9 which is an exciting camera and setting new standards in the camera industry! It was announced in North America on the 24/8/06. This nice little piece of technology measures 91 x 58 x 20 mm and has for weight 165 g. The Coolpix S9 can be set to a maximum resolution of 2816 x 2112. It can also be set at a lower resolution of 2048 x 1536, 1024 x 768, 640 x 480. The ratio of the image on the Nikon Coolpix S9 has been set at 4:3, making a total of 6.0 mega pixels. The sensor on the Coolpix S9 is a CCD having for dimensions 1/2.5 " and uses a RGB color filter.
Nikon included a digital zoom on the Coolpix S9 and also added an internal flash being a standard in nowadays cameras . The normal focus range between the camera lens and the object is 25 cm. The min. shutter speed of the Coolpix S9 is 2 seconds and the maximum shutter speed is 1/1500 seconds. Movies are supported on this camera which is always a useful function. The Nikon Coolpix S9 has an internal memory of 24 mb extendable with SD/MMC card + Internal. The LCD screen available on the Coolpix S9 diagonally measures 2.5 ".
