Olympus C-730 UZ review
Olympus strikes back with its new conception, the Olympus C-730 UZ which is a very exciting camera and setting new standards in the camera industry! It was unveiled on the North American market on the 12/9/02. The Olympus C-730 UZ will be sold at a retail price of 600in the United States, considered affordable for such a camera. This nice little piece of technology measures 108 x 76 x 78 mm and is weighting only 400 g. The C-730 UZ gets a maximum resolution of 2048 x 1536. It can also be set at a lower resolution of 1600 x 1200, 1280 x 960, 1024 x 768, 640 x 480. The ratio of the image (w/h) on the Olympus C-730 UZ has been set at 4:3, for a total of 3.0 mega pixels.
The internal sensor on the C-730 UZ is a CCD measuring only 1/2.7 " using a RGB color filter. Olympus implemented a digital zoom on the C-730 UZ with an internal flash being very common in new cameras . The normal focus range between the camera and the object is 60 cm. The minimum shutter speed (min. exposition to light) on the C-730 UZ is 16 seconds and the maximum shutter is 1/1000 seconds. Movie clips are also supported on this camera which is always a useful function.
The Olympus C-730 UZ includes an internal memory of 16 mb extendable with SmartMedia + xD Picture Card. The LCD implemented in the C-730 UZ is measuring 1.5 ". A video out plug exists allowing you to watch your favorite pictures on television. A USB connection is furnished to connect to a computer.
