Olympus SP-350 review
Olympus launches its new model, the Olympus SP-350 which is an exciting camera and entering with force a very competitive market! It was announced in North America on the 29/8/05. The Olympus SP-350 is sold at a price of 299in the United States, considered affordable for such a camera. This nice little piece of technology measures 100 x 65 x 35 mm while it weights only 245 g. The SP-350 delivers a maximum resolution of 3264 x 2488. It also supports a lower resolution of 2592 x 1944, 2288 x 1712, 2048 x 1536, 1600 x 1200, 1280 x 960, 1024 x 768, 640 x 480. The ratio of the image on the Olympus SP-350 is set at 4:3, 3:2, making a total of 8.1 mega pixels.
The sensor on the SP-350 is a CCD having for dimensions 1/1.8 " having a RGB color filter. Olympus added a digital zoom on its SP-350 and also added an internal flash which is always essential in a camera . The normal focus range between the camera and the object is 20 cm. The minimum shutter speed (min. exposition to light) on the SP-350 was set at 15 seconds and the maximum shutter speed is 1/2000 seconds. Movies are supported on this camera being a very useful function.
The Olympus SP-350 has an internal memory of 32 mb extendable with xD Picture Card + Internal. The LCD screen of the SP-350 diagonally measures 2.5 ". A video output is available making it handy to watch pictures on your television. A USB connection is furnished to connect to a computer.
