Olympus presents its new conception, the Olympus Stylus 500 Digital which is a great camera and supposed to set new standards in the market! It was shown in North America on the 29/11/04. The Olympus Stylus 500 Digital will be sold for 207in North America, a great deal. This nice little piece of technology measures 99 x 55 x 31 mm and has for weight 200 g. The Stylus 500 Digital delivers a maximum resolution of 2560 x 1920. It can also be set at a lower resolution of 2048 x 1536, 1600 x 1200, 1280 x 960, 1024 x 768, 640 x 480. The image ratio on the Olympus Stylus 500 Digital has been set at 4:3, making a total of 4.9 mega pixels.
The sensor on the Stylus 500 Digital is a CCD of dimensions 1/2.5 " having a RGB color filter. Olympus included a digital zoom on the Stylus 500 Digital with an internal flash which is very handy to any cameras nowadays . The normal focus range between the camera and the object is 50 cm. The minimum shutter speed on the Stylus 500 Digital is 4 seconds and the maximum shutter speed is 1/1000 seconds. The movie mode is supported in this model being a very useful function. The Olympus Stylus 500 Digital has an internal memory of 32 mb extendable by using xD Picture Card.
The LCD screen of the Stylus 500 Digital is measuring 2.5 ". A video out plug exists making it handy to watch pictures on your television. Connection to a computer is available through USB.
