Olympus Stylus 700 Digital review
Olympus strikes back with its new camera, the Olympus Stylus 700 Digital which is a very special camera and entering with force a very competitive market! It was presented in North America on the 26/1/06. This nice little piece of technology measures 95 x 56 x 20 mm and has for weight 140 g. The Stylus 700 Digital delivers a maximum resolution of 3072 x 2304. It can also be set at a lower resolution of 2560 x 1920, 2304 x 1728, 2048 x 1536, 1600 x 1200, 1280 x 960, 1024 x 768, 640 x 480. The image ratio (w/h) on the Olympus Stylus 700 Digital has been set at 4:3, making a camera of 7.0 mega pixels.
The internal sensor on the Stylus 700 Digital is a CCD which measures 1/2.3 " using a RGB color filter. Olympus implemented a digital zoom on the Stylus 700 Digital and also added an internal flash being very common in new cameras . The normal focus range between the camera lens and the main subject is 60 cm. The minimum shutter speed (min. exposition to light) on the Stylus 700 Digital was set at 4 seconds and the maximum shutter speed is 1/1000 seconds. The movie mode is supported in this version being a very useful function.
The Olympus Stylus 700 Digital camera has an internal storage of 19 mb and can be extended with xD Picture Card + Internal. The LCD screen of the Stylus 700 Digital measures 2.5 ". A video output is available allowing you to watch your pictures on TV. A USB connection is furnished to connect to a computer.
