Pentax strikes back with its new conception, the Pentax Optio S50 which is a very exciting camera and entering with force a very competitive market! It was shown in North America on the 16/8/04. The Pentax Optio S50 will be sold at a retail price of 228in the US, a great price for such a camera. The Optio S50 gets a maximum resolution of 2560 x 1920. It can also be set at a lower resolution of 2304 x 1728, 2048 x 1536, 1600 x 1200, 640 x 480. The image ratio on the Pentax Optio S50 is set at 4:3, making a total of 5.0 mega pixels. The lens's sensor of the Optio S50 is a CCD which measures only 1/2.5 " and uses a RGB color filter.
Pentax added a digital zoom on its Optio S50 and included an internal flash which is always essential in a camera . The normal focus range between the camera and the object is 40 cm. The minimum shutter speed on the Optio S50 is 4 seconds while the maximum shutter speed is 1/2000 seconds. Movies are supported in this model which is always a useful function. The Pentax Optio S50 camera has an internal storage of 11 mb extendable with external storage with SD/MMC card + Internal. The LCD screen available on the Optio S50 measures 1.8 ".
