Ricoh Caplio R40 review
Ricoh arrives this year with its new model, the Ricoh Caplio R40 which is a great camera and setting new standards in the camera industry! It was shown on the North American market on the 22/5/06. This model measures 95 x 53 x 26 mm while weights 165 g. The Caplio R40 has for maximum resolution 2816 x 2112. It can also be set at a lower resolution of 2048 x 1563, 1280 x 960, 640 x 480. The ratio of the image (w/h) on the Ricoh Caplio R40 is 4:3, 3:2, making a total of 6.0 mega pixels. The lens's sensor of the Caplio R40 is a CCD which measures only 1/2.5 " with a RGB color filter. Ricoh included a digital zoom on the Caplio R40 and also added an internal flash being very common in new cameras .
The normal focus range is 30 cm. The minimum shutter speed (min. exposition to light) on the Caplio R40 was set at 8 seconds and the maximum shutter speed is 1/2000 seconds. Movie clips are also supported in this model which is always a useful function. The Ricoh Caplio R40 includes an internal memory of 26 mb extendable by using SD/MMC card + Internal. The LCD screen of the Caplio R40 measures 2.5 ". A video out plug exists allowing you to watch your favorite pictures on television.
