Ricoh Caplio R5 review
Ricoh arrives this year with its new camera, the Ricoh Caplio R5 which is a great camera and entering with force a very competitive market! It was presented in the US on the 24/8/06. This nice little piece of technology measures 96 x 55 x 26 mm while it weights only 165 g. The Caplio R5 has for maximum resolution 3072 x 2304. It can also be set at a lower resolution of 2592 x 1944, 2048 x 1536, 1280 x 960, 640 x 480. The image ratio on the Ricoh Caplio R5 has been set at 4:3, making a camera of 7.1 mega pixels. The internal sensor on the Caplio R5 is a CCD which measures 1/2.5 " having a RGB color filter.
Ricoh included a digital zoom on the Caplio R5 and also added an internal flash being a standard in nowadays cameras . The normal focus range is 30 cm. The min. shutter speed of the Caplio R5 is 8 seconds and the maximum shutter is 1/2000 seconds. Movies are supported in this version which is always a useful function. The Ricoh Caplio R5 camera has an internal storage of 26 mb extendable with SD/MMC card + Internal. The LCD implemented in the Caplio R5 measures 2.5 ". There is also a video out output available allowing you to watch your favorite pictures on television.
