Sony Mavica CD500 review
Sony impresses with its new camera, the Sony Mavica CD500 which is an exciting camera and setting new standards in the camera industry! It was announced on the North American market on the 24/2/03. The Sony Mavica CD500 will be sold for 479in the United States, a great price for such a camera. The Mavica CD500 offers a maximum resolution of 2592 x 1944. It can also be set at a lower resolution of 2048 x 1536, 1280 x 960, 640 x 480. The ratio of the image (w/h) on the Sony Mavica CD500 has been set at 4:3, 3:2, making a total of 5.0 mega pixels. The lens's sensor of the Mavica CD500 is a CCD measuring only 1/1.8 " having a RGB color filter.
Sony added a digital zoom on its Mavica CD500 and also added an internal flash which is very handy to any cameras nowadays . The normal focus range between the camera lens and the object is 50 cm. The min. shutter speed of the Mavica CD500 is 8 seconds and the maximum shutter speed is 1/1000 seconds. Movie clips are also supported in this version which is always a useful function. The Sony Mavica CD500 has an internal memory of 1 x 8 cm CD-R, 1 x CD-RW extendable with external storage with CD-R, CD-RW (8 cm).
The LCD implemented in the Mavica CD500 is measuring 2.5 ". A video output is available letting you see your pictures on television. USB connectivity to a computer is supported.
