Sony DSC-M1 review
Sony strikes back with its new model, the Sony DSC-M1 which is a special camera and supposed to set new standards in the market! It was presented in North America on the 10/9/04. The Sony DSC-M1 was initially targeted at a retail price of 391in North America, a great price for such a camera. This nice camera measures 51 x 114 x 28 mm while it weights only 215 g. The DSC-M1 offers a maximum resolution of 2592 x 1944. It also supports a lower resolution of 2048 x 1536, 1280 x 960, 640 x 480. The image ratio on the Sony DSC-M1 is set at 4:3, 3:2, for a total of 5.0 mega pixels. The sensor on the DSC-M1 is a CCD which measures 1/2.4 " with a RGB color filter.
Sony added a digital zoom on its DSC-M1 and also added an internal flash being very common in new cameras . The normal focus range between the camera and the object is 50 cm. The minimum shutter speed (min. exposition to light) on the DSC-M1 is 1 seconds while the maximum shutter speed is 1/1000 seconds. The movie mode is supported in this version which is always a useful function. The Sony DSC-M1 has an internal memory of 32 mb extendable with Memory Stick Duo / Pro Duo.
The LCD screen of the DSC-M1 is measuring 2.5 ". There is also a video out output available letting you see your pictures on television. USB connectivity to a computer is supported. To conclude, we really believe that the Sony DSC-M1 is a great camera and we encourage anyone interested in a great camera to buy this great camera.
