Sony DSC-W5 review
Sony arrives this year with its new conception, the Sony DSC-W5 which is a great camera and entering with force a very competitive market! It was shown in the US on the 02/2/05. The Sony DSC-W5 is sold at a price of 208in the United States, a very interesting deal. This nice camera measures 91 x 60 x 36 mm and weights 250 g. The DSC-W5 delivers a maximum resolution of 2592 x 1944. It also supports a lower resolution of 2048 x 1536, 1600 x 1200, 640 x 480. The image ratio (w/h) on the Sony DSC-W5 is 4:3, 3:2, making a total of 5.0 mega pixels. The sensor of the DSC-W5 is a CCD measuring only 1/1.8 " and uses a RGB color filter.
Sony included a digital zoom on the DSC-W5 with an internal flash being very common in new cameras . The normal focus range between the camera lens and the main subject is 50 cm. The minimum shutter speed (min. exposition to light) on the DSC-W5 was set at 30 seconds and the maximum shutter speed is 1/1000 seconds. Movie clips are also supported in this model which is always a useful function. The Sony DSC-W5 has an internal storage space of 32 mb extendable with Memory Stick / Pro + Internal.
The LCD implemented in the DSC-W5 diagonally measures 2.5 ". A video output is available making it handy to watch pictures on your television. USB connectivity to a computer is supported.
