Sony Mavica FD-87 review
Sony unveils its new model, the Sony Mavica FD-87 which is a great camera and supposed to set new standards in the market! It was presented on the North American market on the 09/2/01. The Sony Mavica FD-87 will be sold at a retail price of 500in the US, a great price for such a camera. The Mavica FD-87 has for maximum resolution 1280 x 960. It also supports a lower resolution of 1024 x 768, 640 x 480. The image ratio (width / height) on the Sony Mavica FD-87 is 4:3, 3:2, making a total of 1.2 mega pixels. The sensor on the Mavica FD-87 is a CCD having for dimensions 1/2.7 " and uses a RGB color filter.
Sony implemented a digital zoom on the Mavica FD-87 and included an internal flash which is very handy to any cameras nowadays . The normal focus range between the camera and the object is 25 cm. The minimum shutter speed on the Mavica FD-87 is 2 seconds and the maximum shutter speed is 1/725 seconds. The Sony Mavica FD-87 has an internal memory of 1.44 mb extendable with external storage with Disk 3.5" + MemoryStick via adapter. The LCD screen available on the Mavica FD-87 is measuring 2.5 ". A video out plug exists making it handy to watch pictures on your television.
